But fans of the toddler-like green alien may be disappointed: The new products are not expected to ship until next year.
The 11-inch Baby Yoda plush toy from Mattel, which comes in packaging that looks like his levitating bassinet in “The Mandalorian,” carries a list price of $24.99 and is slated to be available by April 1, 2020, according to the listing on ShopDisney.com. The Pop! vinyl bobble-head figure of The Child from Funko is available in two models: a 3.75-inch version ($12.99), expected to ship by May 13, 2020; and a 10-inch super-sized version ($29.99), expected to ship by June 3, 2020.
“Fully embrace the cuteness of the 50-year-old Yoda species with this adorable 11-inch plush toy,” the description of the toy’s listing reads. “He may look like a Baby Yoda, but this lovable creature is referred to as The Child. Inspired by the Disney+ live-action series ‘The Mandalorian,’ this sweet Star Wars plush toy makes a Force-sensitive addition to your collection.”
According to Mattel, the first orders of The Child toy are scheduled to ship to distribution partners in February 2020. It’s available to pre-order from ShopDisney and will be offered for pre-order through other retailers.
Mattel’s Baby Yoda toy has a vinyl head, a plush body and a “sturdy base filled with beans.” The figure’s head can be turned manually; The Child’s robes are not designed to be removed. An additional note says that the images of the toy “are for illustration purposes only. Actual product may vary slightly.”
Earlier Tuesday, Walmart.com had put up a page listing for The Child plush toy, with a ship date of May 24, 2020, before pulling it down. A spokesperson told Variety the retailer had jumped the gun in launching the pre-order page.

Baby Yoda became an overnight sensation after Disney Plus debuted in November, and Disney rushed into production on merchandise for the toddler-like alien character, including T-shirts, phone cases and mugs, in order to capitalize on the mania in time for the holiday 2019 season. The ShopDisney site lists at least 20 Baby Yoda-related items for sale.
The initial lack of Baby Yoda merch stemmed from “The Mandalorian” creator Jon Favreau’s desire to keep the element of surprise about the character for the series’ debut, when The Child appears at the end of the premiere episode. Disney complied with his request to hold off producing merchandise until after the live-action Star Wars series premiered.
Baby Yoda has become an instant internet celebrity and the subject of numerous memes — including, most recently, one featuring the tiny green creature sipping soup, culled from Episode 4 of “The Mandalorian.”
